MACDONALD OFFER REJECTED
Southend boss Steve Tilson has confirmed that United have turned down an offer for transfer listed Charlie MacDonald.
The Blues have rejected League Two side Brentford's approach for the 27-year-old, as Tilson insisted that he wouldn't let players leave on the cheap.
Former Ebbsfleet United striker MacDonald looks set to depart Roots Hall this summer after only one season at the club.
But Tilson insisted that any deal that would see players leave would have to be right for both parties.
"Brentford have come in an offer for Charlie but it isn't near what we want for him," Tilson told southendunited.co.uk.
"He may be on the transfer list but the deal has to be right and we won't be selling him for what they have offered."
MacDonald has made 34 appearances last season for Southend and scored five goals.
Blues have transfer listed a quartet of forwards in Gary Hooper, Matt Harrold, Richie Foran and Charlie MacDonald.
