Southend United midfielder Franck Moussa has signed a one-year contract extension this afternoon.

The Belgium midfielder put pen-to-paper on another 12-months at Roots Hall, extending his current deal until the end of the 2009/10 campaign.

And the youngster hopes to fulfil his boyhood dream of playing at Wembley Stadium this season should Blues win through to the play-off final.

"When I was growing up in Belgium you get to see a lot of the FA Cup," said Moussa who has made 21 appearances this season.

"It was always a big occasion in our household and its been my dream to play at Wembley one day.

"I didn't realise that the play-off final was at the new Wembley until a few months ago, so if we could get there and play that would be amazing."

To do that though Southend need to overcome a strong Doncaster side in Friday's second leg of the play-off semi-finals.

United travel to the Keepmoat Stadium following last week's 0-0 draw with Sean O'Driscoll's side.

But 19-year-old Moussa believes Southend can go there full of confidence.

"A draw was a good result," he said. "The second leg is just another game, we will have good support and we have nothing to fear."

Moussa's chances this season have been limited, due to the success of duo Alan McCormack and Nicky Bailey.

The pair have scored 20 goals between them, but Moussa hopes a new season will bring a fresh slate for everyone.

"I would like to think that when I have played I have done well," said Moussa, who has represented Belgium at youth level but also qualifies to play for the DR Congo.

"A new season will bring a new start for everyone and hopefully that will be in the Championship."
