Southend United's Public Inquiry kicked-off this morning at the Civic Centre in Southend.

A few hundred Blues fans turned out to lend their support to the United's plans for a new 22,000 seater stadium at Fossetts Farm.

The Inquiry, which is expected to last for around two weeks, will review the initial planning permission granted by Southend and Rochford Council earlier this year for the development.

The Club have received a huge amount of support for the application from both the local community and the footballing world.

Indeed United's planning team was able to include letters of support for the application from Gary Lineker, Alan Hansen, Alan Shearer, Mark Lawrenson and indeed Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
