BACK THE NEW STADIUM
You may have seen the various leaflets around Roots Hall enabling fans to show their support of the New Stadium, by filling in the bottom section and handing it into the Club.
We want all of you to show your support for the New Stadium, and its benefit to the Community of Southend, by writing letters of support to the Planning Department at the Council.
Although the closing date is today, 13th November, the Council will still accept your letters of support after this date.
Why should Blues fans support the New Stadium?
At Present:
- Existing Stadium old and out-dated
- We have the second smallest capacity in the Championship
- Parking and transport links are inadequate
- Outdated and limited conferencing and non-matchday facilities at Roots Hall
- Limited bars and catering facilities
- Inadequate facilities for disabled supporters
The Future:
- Capacity of up to 22,000 seats (double our current capacity)
- Stadium parking for nearly 1,000 cars
- State of the art facilities
- Conference facility for 750 people
- State of the art open concourse and bars (including 3 pub-style supporters bars)
- Increased facilities for our Disabled supporters
- Easy access links
- More facilities for Community-related events
- Retail development to compliment the Town Centre
